Happy Birthday to me! So yeah not how i though the day would go. I had hoped to have the day off of work, get my hair done, do a fun supper with my kids and cake with my mom and maybe some friends too. My weekend was suppose to be off to see Wicked with friends and hoped to see my family too. Then Covid-19 showed up and that all went out the door. ....
5 reason to be grateful:
1) All the wonderful Birthday wishes I got today
2) All the texts and phone calls I got
3) friends who bring you ice cream so our kids can trade pokemon and see another human face
4) Being able to see go out to the drive-thru and my kids eating my choice of restaurant.
5) Tax refunds :)
So yeah i woke up and didn't feel the greatest. I couldn't sleep as fears over the COVID-19 virus reaching my house and what would we do. Also the cold, windy and damp weather is kicking up all of allergens, along with being in my house that we have been deep cleaning stiring up dust, dander and such, so the slightest sniffle, stuffy nose or drainage sends me into a panic. I also had some pretty scary dreams on top of that, so waking up to function wasn't great. The kids though weren't going to let me escape the day. They came running in with gifts before i even made it out of bed. I love that my family makes sure that I send end up with a gift for my birthday even though my kiddos are not old enough to have their own income or go shopping on their own. To be honest, I wasn't expecting anything since my kids haven't been allowed in a store in the last three weeks.
We got our day started because the kids still had meetings for schools and school work to do. I also wanted to make sure some stuff was clean. I called my mom and mentioned that i would like to go to Burger King for lunch and needed to go to the bank to deposit a check. I thought maybe she would like to come along and we could do cake afterwards.
So Mom did come over and we went to get some lunch and left poor Grady home alone for the first time. Good think i have a camera in the house.. i got to watch him and he did pretty much ok. He had one accident and that was it. Of course having Cole here, helps too.
We did cake and then mom headed home and the kids got to work on some school work/rest. We decided to get out and do a walk to burn of some of that study energy with the puppies. When we got back to the house after chores and such, it was time to do birthday burpees with some of the members of my crossfit gym. One of the coach's also had a birthday today, so it was fun to all get together from our living rooms via Zoom. After that little work out, i was ready to try to do the 400 meter walking lunges.. so yea that is from my garage to my garbage cans and back. That was a lot harder then i thought it would be. Thankfully on the end of my walk, a friend called to say they wanted to bring us ice cream and let the kids do some pokemon trading...but we would keep our distance to 6 feet apart.
So like good wisconsin people, we sat outside in my garage, in the cold 35 degree weather and ate ice cream and the kids traded.. True friendship there. <3 p=""> The kids and i ended the night with just being lazy..which was ok with me.

Week Three...We made it so far
So I missed the weekend for blogging. Honestly I don't feel like it was much of a weekend. I really struggling with the idea of a weekend. We had a a few crazy days last weekend, so tired to play catch up on the weekend. Of course naturally that doesn't work but it's slightly comforting because that seems to be hw our life always goes. The only thing that i'm really getting frustrated with is not getting stuff down around the house. I need to just set time to do like we have set time for everything else. I think we are now getting more into the groove, its time to make sure this time isn't wasted.
So Grady is fitting in quite well..he's very laid back and lazy..fits with every other animal we have
Both Grady and Cole enjoy the chicks.
Max made a raft for the lego challenge.
We take a lot of walks... Grady will do his business on them, so walks we do :)
We made homemade bread. Max enjoyed it the most! He even eats it, which is a bonus.
The most he's gone in his crate.. that's a goal coming up. He needs a safe place and Pepper needs a break from Grady
This pup wake up and then goes back to bed an hour later.
5 Things to be Grateful for on Monday:
1) The warmer weather
2) Breaks from Home
3) The ability to still do work in this crazy time
4) Surprise early pick up of groceries
5) online lesson in my email for my kiddos to take the guess work out for me.
Ah Monday Monday Monday.. We woke up and tried to get to our schedule stuff. But I had a staff meeting at 8:30am, so that made it a little challenging. I should have been better prepared. So the meeting went out, but then we tried to get school stuff done in a short time. Max had a zoom meeting with his class and he loved it. It was so good for him to see if classmates and teacher. I feel bad for my kids and missing that daily interactions with their classmates. The learning is important too, but the social is just as important.
My mom showed up and suggested that I leave. Ok, mom, but where do you go? So i went to work... safe place and faster internet! That's one big struggle around here..our internet was slow before, but now it's even worse! Thank you to getting unlimited data on my phone last year... i complained about it and the price, but now i'm so grateful!
So I got work done and my kids had fun playing with my mom. I got home and we attempted to get things back to normal routine. We got a walk in and supper, then mama was done.
Yes we were social distancing except for the picture
Superhero day: I'm a technology whisper and Bella is a superhero!
Hanging out with his class..Such a big kid

So today was a very eventful day... We got up and moving because we were headed to get a new member of the family.
Welcome Grady Warpinski to the family!
We got him from a rescue and he came from Missouri. He has lived on a farm for the last month, so he knows all about feathered friends, cows, cats and other dogs. He's 3 months old and we hae no real clue how big or what he will be when he grows up as we know is mom was a lab mix but no idea about his father. He's a very laid back and loveable puppy. He slept the car ride home using one of my leather gloves as a chew toy and wrapped up in a blanket.
Once he got home, Cole and Pepper weren't 100 % sure about him. Pepper is afraid of her own shadow, so i think she will take longer, but Cole is trying to make sure Grady knows his spot in the pecking order. He went on his first walk and did really well, as long as he has another dog to follow. He loves to nap, which is about the same for all our pets and eat..another favorite of all our pets. We hope that Cole will help train him. Cole needs some prayers as his back legs have gotten pretty bad, he can still use them but he's having troubles with even the step up from the ground to the patio.
So long with bring Grady home, I got to run to Farm and Fleet and get puppy stuff.. we picked out a collar and toys online for him and then did the online order. I stayed my 6 feet from the sales lady who brought out my order. Then i had to pop over to school to get some items that people needed, helped out a staff member before going to The Corner for lunch. Got home and everyone ate and Grady got his new toys. He was pretty happy with them. I had to take my mom home so i was able to stop and get gas (1.59 a gallon!!!) and puppy food for Grady.
Came home again, and then we decided to take the dogs for a walk. it was nice to get outside even if the air was chilly as the sun had left us. Supper was so random as was the rest of the night. The kids got to watch some more Super Mario Brothers while i was on Puppy Potty duty. Bedtime wasn't too hard for anyone... ALL of the puppies were ready to go to bed.
I"ll admit that Grady will make doing everything at home a bit more of a challenge, but we are all home and home for quite while to help train him. He is Max's puppy, so i hope that will help Max feel better about dogs, as they haven't been a fan of them so far. All admit it makes me feel better that we found a good fit for us before Cole leaves us so maybe he will pick up on some of Coles traits. He also brings some hope and fun duringths crazy time.
5 things to be grateful for...
1) Grady.. we found him, then were told he was going to someone else and then after we were told we missed out on another puppy, he came back to us... meant to be.
2) The sun! it was so nice to see it and have it warm us up !
3) My job.. Just lucky to still have one in these unsettled times
4) Online shopping.. just another way to stay healthy but get the items we need
5) Netflix..I know its silly, but loving the ability to share some of the shows i watched as a child with my kids.

Week 2 Thursday
5 Things to be grateful for:
1) Chats with friend on the phone
2) Being able to help out a friend in need
3) My health
4) hardworking kiddos
5) Daily Walks
Oh Thursday... almost the weekend ;-) So we started off the day well. But i'm quickly realizing we need to change up our schedule. We actually got our daily walk done and school before we had to run and meet up with one of my best friends to do a drop off. THen i treated the kidds to culvers while I joined my work lunch zoom meeting. By the time we made it home, Max was done. He physically acts out what we are all thinking. He is my homebody but he still needs that out and about. We did make it outside for a bit and got in the workout too. Ladder workouts seem easy but never are. LOL
Honestly it's hard to tell the day apart and losing sense of time. Yesterday could be the day before or a week ago. I don't keep track of days which makes it sometimes confusing too. I"m hoping to make next week a better week. I need to be able to get stuff done while enjoying this time at home.

week two-wednesday
Happy Hump day! Is it still hump day when all the days roll into one?
5 Things i'm Grateful for
1) The sun..it was so nice to see it out today and enjoy it.
2) Spring..It is slowly getting here, but you can tell things are starting to grow again
3) For my Hay guy... he brought us fresh hay for the cow and goats and he's always helpful
4) Zoom meetings...I had two yesterday..one with my workout group and one with my co-workers
5) For my son trying new food again!
So Wednesday, The kids got going, as did I.. I'm discovering if i don't get moving right away, then i struggle the whole rest of the day. I did a coffee zoom with some of the fine people from my gym. that was so nice to chat with them. It also helps to see that everyone is kind of in the same boat and they get it. I had to run to UPS to pick up a box from scholastic. Honestly if there wasn't easter presents in the box, i wouldn't have really cared all that much. Since I have no clue what Easter will bring, i figured i better at least have one thing for the baskets. I left my kiddos at home to do their school work. Writing out a lesson plan for them to do each day is really been helpful. Their teachers gave me so much wonderful information and work for the kids, so slowly spacing out the stuff. It's kind of fun to see what they can do in a short bit of time. We only seem to work for about 90 mins and then they are done, but they get so much done without the distractions.
When i got home, i had a work zoom which was so nice to see everyone. I really enjoy that interaction, our comradery and support.
My mom decided to come over to enjoyed the outdoors. We worked on planting some plants that needed to go outdoors. We also got some of the weeds cleaned up in one of the flower beds. Love seeing everything starting to grow! It started to get a little chilly so we headed indoors. We got some cleaning and school work done.
We made potato pizzas for supper and had a good amount of time left before bed, so we watch Super Mario Brothers. A show i use to watch as a kid, and it's still funny and makes very little sense.

Week two Tuesday
Oh Tuesday.. the first day of our new routine...sort of.
My grateful list:
1)I'm grateful for my crossfit family. Working out with them today was great! have a group to work out with makes it harder to skip
2) I'm grateful for my kids teachers. They took so much time to help keep my kids engaged while we can't be in school
3) I'm grateful for my dogs. They can be troublesome sometimes, but they are always right there waiting for me. I also know they would protect us should we need it.
4) I'm grateful for my kids wanting to learn.
5) I'm grateful for friends who know how to make my children's day. Also helping to give them something fun to do while we are at home.
So we decided to head out early today to get some last minute stuff before the official "stay at home " order went into effect. We took my mom with us as she's going a little bit stir-crazy at home since they are on lockdown at her place. We had to get milk, stuff for a cake and chicken/duck stuff. Since Amazon is not delivering as quickly, I decided to hit up the tractor store to get the items. We also hit up the grocery store for milk, stuff to make a birthday cake and a couple other items that we have already ran out of. Problem with the whole stocking up, my kids are eating all their meals here, boy that's way more food then i'm use to having to buy.
We got home in time for lunch and then some school work. I feel so much better having actual stuff that the kids can do. We spent a lot of time playing with the chicks too.
Late afternoon, my gym offered us a chance to join together via video to do the work out. While it wasn't the same as in person, it was a lot better then just on my own.
The kids and i took Cole for a walk to walk off the workout. It was such a nice night .The kids wanted to play for a bit outside.
We made supper together and while it was a challenge for Max, he did manage to eat some of the meal we made. It had stuff in it that he normally doesn't eat, but i was so proud of him for trying it.
