Weekend in pictures

This weekend, Josh and I got away for a couple hours to a presentation on photography and using your camera more. This is something that I’ve struggled with. I”ve always been into photography but after a push to make it more then a hobby , I got burned out.   IT’s not meant to be a career for me, but just something I do for me.  So when we got home, I decided to keep my camera out and take picture of life around me.

After we got home from the presentation, we went to a CF fundraiser for our friends. we were part of it last year too. This year we only made it to play and eat supper. we took Della and Tim with since they were in town to watcht he kids for us. Thank you Della for watching the kids and taking the pictures of the kids in the bouncy house. Josh and I were able to watch the Kick Ball game and catch up with some friends.

We decided to stay outside once we got home from the park. the kids had fun running around and playing. Josh was target practicing and the animals were just here..like they always are.

Sunday we lost the morning. Max didn’t feel good so we just stayed home and let him rest. After he took a two hour nap he woke up his normal self.. so we decided to take the kids to the park to get them out and about.

Josh went out to do chores and run Dylan his birthday gift. Because Max wasn’t feeling well we didn’t want to share germs. I wanted to get some pictures with the quilt, but my idea didn’t work out. We went down by the shop once josh got home and played for a bit.

Sunday Fun day

So Josh started his new job in construction this morning. It was sad to see him go since we hadn’t seen much of him in the last week and knew we wouldn’t see much of him in the upcoming week. We are happy he had a job and an understanding boss for the next coming weeks as we get all the farm stuff done.

Before we knew about this job, and even if we would be living in the area, I made a date with Court to go to Riverfest and see Pat McCurdy. She had never been and it had been pre-Bella since I saw him.  So I got my mom to watch the kiddos and headed for some kid free/girl time.

We took the the shuttle bus, so got there a little late, but found a seat quickly. We enjoyed the first set before we went to get food while on break. It was hard to pick, with so many choices and the prices were a bit high when you think about about. We ahd to buy tickets so converting prices made it pricy. But I got mozzarella sticks and a cob of corn. It was yummy.  The 2nd set was all Pat’s old songs and parodies. It was a great time.

I wished I could stay out later, but had to say goodbye to Court and head home for chores. With no Josh home it was up to me.

Saying goodbye to the Quilt

Today I said goodbye to a Quilt. It’s not just any quilt it was one that was created out of love by one person with the help of 32 others. The 32 and then some are part of a group that came together when we were all pregnant with our “December 2011” babies. Well our babies all came at different times starting in Oct and ending middle of December.  We have gotten to really know each other and wanted to come up with a way to comfort those who were struggling. We live coast to coast and have so many different backgrounds, so all of us traveling or even one or two traveling to the one who was struggling wasn’t an opinion. Thus the quilt was born. With the help of Sew Sassy Creations, 31 ones of us sent in fabric that reminds us of our babies.. Like I send in a John Deere onesie for Max.  Everyone wants to see the quilt in person, yet no one wants to be going through a rough time to get it.

The quilt around the time that we found out for sure that Josh’s cancer was back. It was a rough time for me. Unless you go through it, it’s hard to find someone who can really relate to the feelings. We weren’t given much hope and had to wait for appointments to find out if surgery was even possible.  My best friends live 2 hours away and are busy in their own lives that it’s not like they could drop everything to spend two plus weeks with me while we sat in limbo. Also I didn’t want anyone around either.  I’m a supporter, the one who’s shoulder people cry on… I’m not fan of the other way around. So when this quilt arrived it was perfect. I could cuddle up with it and feel the love form miles around.

This quilt was on our bed every night. I took it to the hospital with me when josh was recovering from surgery. I wish I would have taken more pictures with it. But when the time came to pass it on, I tried to get some pictures with. My photos don’t do it justice as I’m not sure how to show the love correctly. My only real regret was I should have gotten a family picture with it.

I”ve passed it on now and pray that it brings the comfort and support to the next woman and family that it did to us.

Max wasn’t in the mood for pictures. Little did we know what was going to come by the night fall.
