oh my goodness

so it’s been almost a month since I last posted. where has the time gone? Well we have been busy to say the least. There are some post that I hope to add from the past month, but here’s a summary of the last month.

First up for us was our first family vacation. We went up the Great Wolf lodge and had a blast. Bella loves the waterpark and Max could have care less either way. We also spent a lot of time in our room enjoying the whirlpool tub and napping. On our way home we stopped in madison for some shopping and checking out sonic for the first time.

Once we returned from that Bella had one day of school left before spring break. Yes we didn’t plan our trip very well. But Bella did enjoy that one day. Then Aunt Diane came over for a visit. She taught Bella how to make jello jigglers and watched both kids for us, so I could help Josh with chores.

Next up was a trip to the Watertown area. My first stop was to scrapbook with Tori. My mom came to get Bella , while Elizabeth watched the boys for Tori and i. I didn’t get as much scrapbooking done as I had hoped, but Max was most of the cause. By mid afternoon we were off again. I met up with MOm and Bella to visit shopko quick before I left both kids with my mom to join Nikki for supper. It was nice to get out and eat without worrying about two kids. Only problem was we lost track of time and once we got done eatting it was time to head home for me to put two kids to bed.

The next day The whole lot of us headed to my sister’s for the day. I also got to met up with my friend Stacy, who hadn’t meet Max yet. So it was nice to visit with her and let her met my little guy. After she left the woman folk headed to Costo. Oh I love that place!! Then we came back to my sister’s and hung out a bit longer before I finally had to head back home.

The next week was bella’s spring break from school. This meant I needed to come up with stuff for us to do. We spend a lot of time outside with chores since the weather was so warm! We spend one day at the zoo. It got pretty warm. Only bummer was one of the giraffes were not out and the seals weren’t either. I do have to mention that the whole week after I visited my sister’s I didn’t have my camera, as I left it at her house. Sad smile So my pictures are very limited.

My mom come over to visit on st. patty’s day and return my camera to me. So after she left I did my first photo shoot outside with Max.  He wasn’t so sold, but I got some smiles. Thankfully the animals left us alone for most of it. Sunday we got the surprise of baby ducks. I failed to mention earlier that I had gotten the kids pictures taken by our local photographer for Easter. Well she had baby bunnies, chicks and baby ducks. Bella did great.. Max not so much. Little guy is having a rough month.  But he did turn 4 months old. and decided to start rolling over for it.

Then a dreaded Monday hit. Somehow someway Bella got a hold of scissors and you can only imagine what happened. I’m still so sad to see her hair gone.

After that it was back to the normal School Tuesday and Thursday followed by story time on Wednesday. it was nice to be back to normal. the weather was still so nice that we spend some time outside. We helped with chores and worked on going on cleaning up the house.

Then Friday came..there went normal. A dear man passed away, so I wanted to go to the funeral to support Tori and her family. So yeah I watched Dylan in the morning with at my mom’s. then My mom watched max while I took Bella to Hannah’s. Both kids did great while I was gone. I then spend a little extra time at Hannah's before I headed back home.

We had our first Easter celebration with the Jahnke family. We drove up to wautoma and it was a fun drive. The kids did great while we were there thanks to a little Nemo. The drive home wasn’t as great, but still a good time. Then we were lucky to get another visit from Aunt Diane. She helped out with the kids while I attempted to get some stuff done. She does so great with them.

Next up was the start of the week. Monday we got our new bull calf, Jenkins. Then Tuesday I got sick. I was so miserable, but thankfully Elizabeth was here and has helped out bunches! I’m very grateful for her help with he house and the kids. Bella went to school this week but we missed story time.  Now we are waiting the ok from the doctor to head off on the next adventure!

Max 4 months old

Wow Max is 4 months old or 1/3 of a  year of a year. It seems like I just made one of these post.

623 (2) (322x480)

Max is wearing mostly 3-6 months clothes, but two piece 0-3 month clothes. A lot of the 3-6 month pants are too big for him yet. He’s in size 2 diapers now.  He went for his check up on Tuesday and was 13.4 lbs and 24.5 inches long.

You still have the bluest eyes and your dark hair is slowly falling out. I noticed on your bed you have hair on the sheet when you wake up in the morning.

YOur biggest thing has been rolling over from back to tummy. You love to do this and you worked so hard at it. Often you roll on your belly and fall asleep. So you can now roll both ways, but you only like tummy time if you put yourself on your tummy. You all are very wiggly now and move all over by trying to roll over.  You  really having been playing too much with any of your toys, just a few that you can chew on. Every now and then you like to talk to one of your musical toys. You prefer to be sitting with someone or laying on the bed propped up.

You now like to fall asleep on your own anywhere. it’s kind of funny to see you wiggling and then suddenly you are asleep. This is how you take most of your naps. You take like 5 or 6 cat naps a day. Maybe one good nap of an hour or two if Mommy is lucky. At night you sleep 7 hours and then another 4 hours before getting up for the day.

Feeding you are still only getting breastmilk. We are given the go ahead to start cereal, but haven’t yet. You are getting picky about the bottle and it just so happens that we haven’t had to bottle feed you very much lately. You seem to eat about every 2-3 hours during the day depending on how you sleep.

I’m pretty sure you are working on your first tooth and I wouldn’t be surprised if it pops out in the next month. that’s all you want to do is chew on your hands or anything you can get in your mouth.

You have been spending a lot of time outside. Mommy got a new baby carrier so I can wear you now without hurting my back. You didn’t like it at first, but now as soon as you get in it, you settle in for a nap. We are so so about being outside. You don’t like the wind, which is hard since it’s always a bit windy here. The weather has been so nice so I was able to do a mini photoshoot outside. YOu seem to be very interested with the cows and the calves like to try to suck on your little toes while I’m feeding bottles.

We went on our first family vacation and you loved it. We went to an indoor waterpark. you didn’t seem to mind the water at all. You loved it was really warm so you could nap.  we also were able to just hang out. You loved sleeping in the big bed next to daddy for naps and baths in the big tub with mommy and Bella.

A typical day:

8:00am wake up for breakfast

8:30: diaper change and get dressed

9/9:30: first nap of the day

10/10:30: morning snack

12/12;30 lunch nap time

2:30 afternoon snack

4:00: snack and then nap

6:00pm wake up and snack

8/8:30: night time feed and to bed

3:30/4:30 awake for early morning snack and back to sleep

YOu have gotten to be such a social talker and smiler. You do great on car trips as long as your tummy is full. Sometimes you wake up and just talk to your animals and then go back to sleep. Bella can always make you smile but yet at the same time she can over whelm you..  You light up when you see Daddy or if you know I’m about to feed you. Sometimes you pretend to be hungry and give me the biggest smiles while you aren’t really eating.  I can see a lot of personailty in you and I can’t wait to see what the next month has in store for us!

School Snow and More

This week was busy with getting Bella ready for 4-k. Yes it does seem early, but she went to the kindergarten round up at her “church school” She was so great. She said hi to her principal, sat with the other little kids while she watched a little musical put on by the current 4-k and 5-k kids. then she went with the teacher to classroom and worked on a craft project while Josh and I toured the school with the other parents. Then she got a snack and playtime. She didn’t want to leave! I felt so bad for making her, but hopefully she will be this excited to go to school in the fall.

Then after preschool Bella went to her 4-k screening. she was a bit hesitant since it wasn’t at her “church school” but her teacher was there and she did great with her teacher! She’s right on target for her age. A couple things she needs to work on but they are all things that most kids at her age need to work on.

After al this school stuff I’m looking forward to the fall.  She has learned so much for her short time she’s been in preschool, I can’t imagine all she is going to learn going 4 days a week.

Then on Friday we tried to beat the snow and run up to La Farge to get some food from Organic Valley. well the snow naturally started on the way up, and it was nasty coming home, thankfully we made it home safely! It was nice to see some new areas and hopefully we can go back when there isn’t a chance for snow.

The rest of our week was stay at home and attempt to get caught up.We did make it out the barn once, which was to help Josh with Test bottles. Max slept through the whole thing!

Weekly review Feb 20th-25th

So our week last week was busy as normal. I lost my voice after Max’s baptism. Then Max came down with a small cough and sniffles. We went to an auction in search of a field cultivator for Josh, only to find out it was sold before we got there. So we then ventured into Richland Center and on the way home went to pick out a new bull calf that will be our future bull. Friday we got snowed in and naturally it got too chilly to go outside in it. Poor Bella hasn’t gotten to play in the snow much this year. Saturday we road tripped again to Iowa and finally found the field cultivator. Thankfully the hunt is done!  Outside of those things, we have stayed busy with school, playgroup, storytime, chores and normal house activities. But since I still took pictures, here’s some from this week
