New Years eve

We started New Year's Eve out in the snow :-) 

We had a very quiet celebration at home. We got a bunch of appetizers to make for supper and then did a movie night. 

Bedtime came about 8pm. We had to start getting into a normal bedtime routine.

This boy loved he had Johnny popper popcorn, but our microwave didn't like it so we burnt a lot of it, but max didn't care. He ate pretty much all of it.

Day off and Ear infection

So I mentioned in the other post that max wasn’t feeling the greatest. he had a slight fever, but it went away with medicine and a cough. I worry about Influenza so the Doctor wanted to see him Tuesday night. She tested him for the flu but it was negative. She said it was a cold and he would be ok. I figure , it’s all good since I had Wednesday off and JOsh had off Friday, so he had a lot of time to rest with out germs of day care.

So Wednesday morning we all slept in, then went outside since it was nice out.

the kids had a blast and lots of fun. The dogs are so good now at staying by us and not running off, so it’s nice to be outside with them. We are also waiting for Lily to calve.. we thought it would be three weeks ago, but still nothing.

got the kids in the house and lunch. Then Max went down for a nap. Bella and I played some games and she worked on reading while I worked on cleaning up the house. Max woke from his nap, and started playing with Bella. Suddenly he comes to me with chattering teeth and shaking with chills. I take his temp and it’s 100. something. So I take him in the bedroom and I cover him up with a blanket. I thought the house is kind of chilly. Well within 20 mins it up to 102 something, then I call the doctor’s office, bc I know this isn’t right. I get told the nurse will call me back . I then give him more medicine when it climbs to 104. I get ahold of the nurse at 455, the office closes at 5. She tells me to talk him to urgent care

. I had to go to Watertown where Max fell asleep in the car. We get in right away and the doctor looks at  us. She sees his ear is looking bad, then she does a swap for the flu again. Then we wait. I asked her to send in his prescribtion right away, so I won’t have to wait for that too. Well we waited an hour and half for a 20 min test. Lucky I called my mom to pick up max’s meds and bring them too us… bc we got released the same time that she arrived. Max fell asleep on the way home and then was hard to get back to sleep that night.

His fever spiked again and he was so miserable that I had to call into work and say I wouldn’t make it in. So I stayed home all day with him. thankfully he started to turn around after his nap. Actually he woke up and I asked him how he felt and he said “great” I let him do whatever he wanted and it seemed to help. He asked to go outside when I knew Josh and bella were on the way home. So we got some fresh air.

We spend Sunday in the morning out in the snow enjoying it before the bitter cold set in.

Then it was back in the house for the rest of the day. Josh went out ice fishing and had no luck. 

2 and half days

That’s all the school Bella has last week. This was a bummer and made for a long crazy week.

Monday was the first day cancled due to the “big” snow storm that was coming.  we only got 4 of the 8 inches they called for, not worth closing the whole day for. By lunchtime it was done snowing and we went outside to play. Josh got in the tractor to move snow because my poor husband is going stir crazy!

Tuesday Bella was able to go back to school. The sun was shining and it got up to 40+ degrees.. so I did laundry and hung it outside to dry! Max and I went outside for him to play a bit. I worked on making homemade bread and monster cookies. I felt very much on top of things. Once Bella got home from school we all went outside as a family and played around some more.

Wednesday was such a busy day. It was suppose to be busier but thankfully one thing got cancelled.  First we had to take bella to school and then we all went to mass. We were very early for mass, since getting all of us out the door when Josh isn’t out milking doesn’t seem to take as long. Then after Mass, we went to Storytime, well Josh dropped us off and he went to run some errands. We got home, it was lunch and naptime before going to pick up bella from school. Got her, came home for a snack and she had homework, before heading off to gymnastics. Bella came home from class very sassy and we had a rough night until Bedtime. One of the few nights where I’m happy for everyone to go to bed and start the next day fresh.

Thursday mother nature was just not nice to us. It was still warm out, but she brought snow, ice and rain..in that order. School was first delayed then it was cancelled all together, yet the roads were not bad. Max ended up having speech still, which was nice. Then we all loaded up in the car to head to Madison for Josh’s follow up doctor’s appt. That went well. he got a good report and is now able to lift max at least. But we were there forever due to arranging other appts. We kind of rushed back home as the temps slowly started to dip, and got home just as a thunderstorm has passed our place. it was totally crazy. We got home around suppertime and we were all ready to be home. Thank you to Diane for watching the kids in the waiting room for us. It’s a giant help!

Friday was a half day of school, that was already on te books as a half day. Josh and I had plans to take the kids to the river museum. After picking up Bella we went to lunch at IHOP. the kids did pretty good too. max napped the whole way there, so he was a little clingy, but both ate a good amount, at least for our kids. A kind family gave us a coupon for buy one get one free meals, so that was awesome. Then we stopped at my former work place to see a couple ladies. It was nice to catch up witht hem. The kids were not so sold on it though. After we left there we finally made it ot the River museum.It was dead, so we did our own thing and just walked around, this time visiting both buildings.  I think we wore out Daddy the most. We then drove back to wisconsin and hit up platteville . We went to berry yo along with farm and fleet. But it made my kids happy. By the time we got home it was supper and bed. It had been a long day.
