Back to School 2017

 Tuesday Sept 5th arrived and it was time to head back to school. This year I had a FOURTH Grader and a KINDERGARTEN! How is that possible?

 Lets see how the backpacks do this year. I scored one with Max's name on it for him this year.

 This little boy might not have his daddy to take him to school but he was all daddy.. Carhatt shirt and jeans. The camo boots are all his idea, but he follows the idea of quite a few of his favorite farmers who wear boots.

 We did stop for donuts and ate them in my classroom before the bell rang.

 We did post school ice cream. Growing up my mom would always bake a special dessert. It's not possible for me to do that, so we decided ice cream at Wedl's was our tradition :)

 Then this happened! 

A peek into kindergarten. A little rest time. I miss this little guy but so happy that i can see both him and his sister through out the day.

Christmas Day

Christmas morning. Our little tree with presents under it waiting for little kids to come open them. This christmas was very much for the kids. yes Josh and I got gifts, but the joy and magic of the holiday was mostly for Bella and Max. With our ground Angels looking out for them, they had such a magical Christmas. They got so many things they wanted and wished for. Only clothes did Max toss aside, lol . I pray that they keep this magical memories for this christmas.

WE totally forgot about the stockings until after we ate breakfast. Ooops, They were also candyless this year, which i think going forward they might always be. So nice to not worry about candy. Then after a short time to play, we loaded up in the car to head to Nana's house

We packed up from mom's and headed home. The kids were tired but managed to stay awake in the car and then were excited to play with there new toys. We did a chirstmas movie with supper and then bathtime. The kids got new bath toys to try out. Bedtime was a bit of struggle with Max. We finally got him to sleep in his own bed with the promise of presents the night before, but now we didn't have that promise so yeah it was a rough one. 

Celebrating with Aunt Darlene

For many years we have celebrated Christmas with my aunt Darlene, often at the beginning of the Christmas season. This year we did it a little later, but it was the first day that worked since some how all my weekends in December got booked up quickly.
The day was kind of gloomy but warm, It had been a rough night of little sleep due to Max having a cough, but once we got moving it was all ok.
First up I picked up my mom and we took the kids to see reindeer. Max refused to get out of the car once my mom mentioned that Santa was going to be there. so just Bella saw them.

Then we went to my Aunt's where gifts were opened then played with. We had an early lunch of Chicken Bacon Ranch pizza before it was time to pack up and head back to my mom's house before going home to Josh, who was attempting to rest at home. 

We hung out at my mom's a for a bit, and i helped with a few things, before we headed home. Max fell asleep in the car for a few minutes so then he boycotted napping. This meant that the rest of hte night would be diffcult. 

We left again after a early supper for church. Bella had her first reconciliation. We got there just at four and were the last ones there. So Poor girl had to go last. Then we stayed for 5:30 church. Thankfully Max slept through the whole reconciliation part and did ok in church. 

Day 3

Today I’m grateful for the wonderful weather! I’m sure the cause is something like globle warming, but I don’t care. I’m so happy that we are having some nice weather for a few more days before the cold sets in.  I was able to enjoy it for a couple hours with max and Josh yesterday before I had go to work. Then I took my school kids out for an hour and half!  IT was so pretty at the end watching the sunset.  The kids also got to play outside at home and until dark. Something they haven’t done in while.

 

The symptoms are hard to spot of PC. Josh lived with feeling like crap, vomiting and the other end for a few weeks before I begged him to go see a Doctor. he said if he wasn’t better in a week he would of. Lucky for him he turned yellow only a day later and went to the doctor the next day since we already had an appointment for Max’s 6 month check up. The Doctors said we were lucky the tumor grew in just the right spot that we could find it early. I guess that early is why Josh was able to have surgery to remove the cancer. Josh said the surgery was better then the treatment afterwards.

 

Looking at this chart, I think Josh’s Uncle has a few of these symptoms and they were missed until it was much too late.  Because he didn’t know and there was no family history of PC , he wasn’t able to get the treatment that Josh was because it was too late.

So know the symptoms ..it could be the difference between 3 years of fighting and 3 months.

Weekend in pictures

This weekend, Josh and I got away for a couple hours to a presentation on photography and using your camera more. This is something that I’ve struggled with. I”ve always been into photography but after a push to make it more then a hobby , I got burned out.   IT’s not meant to be a career for me, but just something I do for me.  So when we got home, I decided to keep my camera out and take picture of life around me.

After we got home from the presentation, we went to a CF fundraiser for our friends. we were part of it last year too. This year we only made it to play and eat supper. we took Della and Tim with since they were in town to watcht he kids for us. Thank you Della for watching the kids and taking the pictures of the kids in the bouncy house. Josh and I were able to watch the Kick Ball game and catch up with some friends.

We decided to stay outside once we got home from the park. the kids had fun running around and playing. Josh was target practicing and the animals were just here..like they always are.

Sunday we lost the morning. Max didn’t feel good so we just stayed home and let him rest. After he took a two hour nap he woke up his normal self.. so we decided to take the kids to the park to get them out and about.

Josh went out to do chores and run Dylan his birthday gift. Because Max wasn’t feeling well we didn’t want to share germs. I wanted to get some pictures with the quilt, but my idea didn’t work out. We went down by the shop once josh got home and played for a bit.
