a trip to the fair

So we didn’t make it to the Grant County fair this year, so I asked my mom and aunt if they wanted to go to the dodge county fair. It was a little warm, but other that it was a nice day. We got there pretty early in the day and saw most of the attractions. My kids loved the cows, ducks and goats. Max love all the equipment. Oh my farmer kids!

The Fair

This weekend was the Grant County Fair. We didn’t get to go as much as we have in the past. We just went one day, but once in the afternoon and once at night.

First we took the kids to see the animals and the exhibits.

She really wanted to do the ducks, but they weren’t open yet. Really bad carnival workers, but she went fishing and got a monkey.

August 17th-Fair!

So my mom came down for a week. She was here to help Pamida turn into Shopko. IT was nice to have her down here. I forgot to mention that in my last post, that we went out to supper with her one night, and she watched the kids for Josh and I to go see a movie. Well we tried to take Bella to it, but she freaked out and so I took her back to my mom.  But hey it was a date night for us, so I’ll take what I can get. Smile
Anyhow back to Friday, My mom watched both the kids so that I could go with Josh to his radiation appt. I was able actually see what he goes through during his treatment. I’ll admit it was a bit hard to watch, I’m not really sure why, maybe because he’s in the room by himself., considering I’ve seen him be put through a lot worst. I’m glad though I got to see what happens as it was kind of making me wonder and edgy not knowing what they were doing to my poor husband. Then we got him some protein shakes to help with his weight loss before heading back to Lancaster.
Once In Lancaster Josh took my mom’s car home and then MOm and I took the kids up to the fair. Bella had a blast. She wanted to see horses, cows and chickens. Thankfully we were able to give her two out of three.. but she did enjoy the sheep, goats and pigs. We even watched some Heifer judging. I think the hands down winner was the corn box.. which was like a sand box only filled with corn! We left it and came back to it three times.  I got my favorite foods… cheese curds and funnel cake. Max seem to just enjoy all the sites and sounds. Bella rode on one of the carnival rides. I was quite shocked she did. She won an inflatable fish from the duck game.  We ended up staying there for over 3 hours .
Afterwards Josh met back up with us . We said our goodbyes to my mom and headed home.
