Wednesday June 10

So one like me was hoping for another repeat of the day before only, didn't work. The kids got up much earlier, so I decided to go to the beach earlier. Well the beach had more people and it was pretty windy, thus making it kind of chilly. It warm every where else though.  Well pretty sure my poor kids got swimmers itch, as Bella was complaining about it and max wouldn't stop itching. :-(  the kids did play on the playground for a bit and we spent about 2 hours there. I have to say I'm happy we have a season pass so I don't mind going for short visits. 

We got home and took a bath. Then lotioned up the kids and try to help the itching. We had lunch then max went down for a rest. Bella had one too, both slept for a very short time.  This led to a day of crazies. 

Josh got home but went to butcher our roosters. We had fresh grilled chicken and potatoes for supper. Roosters don't give as much as hens.  The kids played a game with josh. Max's new thing is "play game with me." Problem is he won't play the right way or last long enough for most games, so it's a struggle, but he's gotten better then a few months ago. 

We did a lot of reading before getting ready for bed. I like that we can stay up a bit later now since we don't have to be up uber early.

It wasn't as relaxing of a day, but still an ok day. I got my bible reading in while josh was grilling supper. I've already learned a few new things. 

Mouses and Playtime

Today after dropping Bella off at VBS, Max and I went to toddler tales at the library.  after that we picked up Josh and headed to Fennimore to pick up Bella. I had some pictures to take over to Great Grandma and Poppy, so we stopped there after we got Bella. The visit was a bit short as Max needed a nap and Josh had stuff he needed to do, but we squeezed in a visit to the Cheese factory for some fresh curds.

max took a long nap, and it was late, so after chores and supper, we came to town to let the kids play at the park while Josh mowed the grass at the Lancaster house.

July 6th: Pool Fun

WE were all very tired from the last couple days, so we went mass, where Max fell asleep in church. WE managed to get him home and put him in his crib. SO he got a good nap and bella had some quiet time. I think even josh got a nap in.  When Josh got ready to milk we got the pool cleaned up and filled up with hot water.  it was bathtub temp. So the kids had a blast playing it in. Once it got too cold they came in for frozen yogurt. Poor Max was so chilly but I couldn’t convince him to change at all.

Down on the Farm

The first few days of July were spent at home. We had no real fourth of July plans this year.

July 1st the vet came out to check some of our cows to see if they were pregnant. We found out that Lily the heifer is pregnant with a girl calf. So in about 8 months we will find out if the vet was correct. Praying he is.

Horny.. Due to the fact that she still has horns, and lost all her tags.

The 2nd was a cooler night. We had a bonfire and used up some of our sparklers. The kids had a blast playing outside at nighttime. Also no bugs, which was nice

Popcorn and her calf Poppers (Poppy) This is the only picture I have of them together. Popcorn got Milk fever and this was right after she started to feel better, only to take a turn for the worst on the 3rd and passed away on the 4th. Popcorn was one of the first calves I named on the Ihm farm and I was lucky she was able to come with us to our farm. Bella knew Popcorn from about the time she was 12 months old. She always claimed her as her cow, even thought Fudgie was suppose to be hers. Thankfully she had a girl who will be able to move with us and continue on the Popcorn line. Btw Anyone reading this, Bella doesn’t know what happened to Popcorn. She hasn’t asked yet, but knows that Popcorn was sick. When she ask again we will tell her, but so hard to break her little heart when we are going to be selling off all the milking cows.

Guess who was in heaven at the idea of playing in the driveway with his toys instead of going to bed.

July 3rd happened. What happened I’m not relaly sure. Max has speech, where he wasn’t much of a fan and put himself to bed in order to get out of it. We went to the library for storytime. I’m sure I took a picture, but must be on my phone or ipad. LOL

July 4th, I want to say it was a big old day of celebrating, but it wasn’t. My mom came down for a bit and we went to Lancaster for to get some stuff at the bakery and the children’s store. Yes my kids got spoiled.lol Oh well it was stuff they use. Max got a round bale mover with round bales. He is in heaven. Mom left when we got home and Max napped the rest of the afternoon, so Bella rested too. Which was ok since we planned another bonfire anyhow. JOsh hired someone to bale our hay in large square bales, but I missed it all due to Max napping.
