Thankful Round up

Thankful for short work weeks. This week I only have to work today. I don’t get vacation days that I pick, only when school is off, so it’s nice when vacation days come Smile

Day 24

Thankful that we found a hospital that can best fit Josh’s needs. For once we had a morning appointment for Josh’s drains to be changed. We are  lucky we are in a skilled place that can handle the drains in a quick and prompted matter. Though the changed didn’t go as planned, we know it’s the best place for us and this stupid tumor!

Day 25

I’m thankful for simple days with the family. Josh wasn’t feeling too well, so we had a laid back day of just playing at home. We rounded out the day with going to the Peanuts movie with the kids. It was so much fun to go with them and see how much fun they have watching the movie on the big screen.

Day 26

I’m thankful for having thanksgiving and a day to give thanks! We didn’t do much, but in a way it is how it should be. A day to reflect and just be with family. We are so lucky to live in the US and had those first pilgrims not come to America and made friends with the the native Americans, I’m not sure what our lives would be like today

Day 27

Thankful for the nurses and doctors that handle our family. Josh needed to go back to the hospital and we were greeted by nurses and doctors that we know and know us. while we don’t want to be at the hospital it’s nice to have faces we know and trust. They also tend to get you in and out quickly too.

Day 28

thankful for the internet. I’m glad that in this day in age I’m able to shop from home, keep in touch with friends and family who live far away and use it for entertainment. We are pretty lucky to have this privilege as not everyone does and it’s totally something I take for granted. I was able to shop at home and then Bella and I went out to the store to get the items. Together we had a girls day of shopping where she bought gifts for a few people with her own money. Im very proud of her taking the time to pick something out for them and buying it.

Day 29

Thankful for my life. Sunday is often a day of reflection because we go to church. I love that I can go to church leave my problems there and somehow things work out. We were so lucky for that little things happen to solve some of my worries. They aren’t perment fixes but enough to keep me going.  There are so many that aren’t able to even have these worries or the joys that I do experience as a living person..so I’m thankful for my many days on this earth.

Day 30

Thankful for my wonderful nieces and nephews. Today my oldest niece turns 18! I can still remember getting the call in the wee hours of the night to find out she was born. Then I got to skip school to go meet her! She’s was like having a  little sister. It’s hard to belive she’s already an adult!  I have two other wonderful nieces and two, almost three, nephews. Some are by blood and some by marriage but I love htem all the same. I’m lucky to have them and watch them grow!

Today I’m thankful for those who were able to join us for Max’s party. He was lucky to feel loved by so many family members.

Day 21

Today I’m thankful for my car. The snow finally came, and brought us 4 or so inches of snow. Not as much as some but enough for the first snow of the year. Since the kids were at my mom’s house I had to travel to get them. My car is 4wd, so I knew I wouldn’t have any trouble getting to my mom’s and back. I felt safe in my car.

So the snow came. Josh went hunting in the snow, but no luck. He has such dedication  and so badly wants to get a deer this year. I spend the morning cleaning up the house before I went out to clean off my car and shovel the steps. I also had to check on the animals. Then it was off to watertown I hung out there for lunch and then we came back home. THe kids wanted to be outside so we spent time outside before I attempted to get Max to nap. Naturally he did at the last minute so he was so hard to wake up and cranky. Wouldn’t have been a problem except we headed to church. Church was ok and then home for supper and playtime.

Day 20

Today I’m thankful for date nights. Some couples are not as lucky as Josh and I. We try to get a date in at least once every couple months if not monthly. We also get to have grownup meals every time Josh has chemo.  IT’s important to take the time just the two of us.

After a crazy Friday, Josh took the kids to my mom’s house and we were able to have a date night with some good friends. I was nice to catch up with them and have some couples time. The kids stayed overnight at my mom’s so I started cleaning up for the upcoming party before going to bed. It was nice to not have to worry about going to check on the kids in the middle of the night or waiting and waiting for them to fall asleep.

day 19

So yesterday I was thankful for Max.. it was spelt out in a lots of ways. LOL

Today I’m thankful for my faith. The last few days we have been thrown some curve balls that I’m not sure how we are going to handle, but as long as I keep faith that it will all work out and pray, I know I’ll be ok.  It was also good for the soul to go to church with the 3 years olds today. Just so wonderful to see God through their eyes.

Yesterday was Max’s birthday, We tired to give him the day he would love, a day that would make him happy. So I took off part of work so Josh and I could give him our undivded attention. Our first stop was to take Bella to school, then to the clinic. I’m not happy he had to go there as we avoided it for Josh and Bella’s birthday, but thankfully max was ok with it. He got to spin around on the chairs. Then we ran to Shopko to see Nana and get medicine for Josh. Next up was going to Fleet Farm. Max had gotten a gift card for there, so he had a fun time picking out his own gifts. Josh has never been to that one, so he enjoyed looking for hunting stuff. On the way back home we went to MidState John deere Dealership. Max loved all the toys and the tractors! Last stop was to the grocery store for Max to pick out his cake (a turkey) and cupcakes for school.

At home we ate lunch, then max took a nap. I went to work and Josh brought Max later in the afternoon to hang out with me at work while Josh and bella had some one on one time. We got home early, so we did supper, then present and cake. I think max had a great day. I know he enjoyed all his tractors and combine

I only want to say I pray for a cure so that Josh can spend more birthdays with his kids.
