So the last day of camping was Grandma Jahnke’s annual potluck at the campsite. THis year we also celebrated Bella’s birthday with the family there. It worked nicely for everyone. We didn’t get to stay too long before we were off to a birthday party for one of Bella’s friends.
after the party and Josh was done milking, all of us went back to the campgrounds for a campfire and smores. Bella had a rough go and fell a few times. After she had fallen at the birthday party and then again that night, she wasn’t in a good mood. :( When we left we found out that Grandma and Tim were coming back to our house. So they next morning we had a great adventure with them.
We woke to no POWER. yeah that made for an interesting adventure. Bella totally didn’t understand and all she wanted was Go Diego Go. It messed up our plans for the day and i think it kind of changed up Grandma’s places too. She and Tim left after the power was back and the rain had let up a bit. Then Josh, Bella nad I got ready for church. The rest of the day was very laid back as it was really humid out and we were all tired from our week of camping!

Then the Rain came……
Last week was Jahnke Family Camping at Blackhawk Lake. This is the first year that Josh and I were able to actually camp with the family. We rented a cabin that was right next to the campsites that Grandma and Grandpa, Duane and Diane, and Gary and Sylvia had. The cabin was perfect for us, It had two sets of bunk beds, table and benches, a cute little porch and only a few feet from the bathrooms. Oh yeah and did i mention it had A/C :)
Tuesday is when we started camping. We got a later start then i had planned on due to Bella taking a four hour nap. Once she was awake, we loaded into the car and headed to the campsite. Josh helped us get all unloaded before he had to take off and go home to milk. We walked around a bit with Grandma and said hello to everyone. Visited the different campers, before hanging out in Duane and Diane’s until they were done eating. Bella discovered how to make the wall move and get into everything! So we moved back to our cabin. There Diane and I played Othello and I won. Then I played Duane and he kicked my butt. We went and hung out outside until Josh showed up for supper. The bugs were kind of icky and it was hot, so we just hung out in the cabin. Bella went down pretty good, only getting up three times before falling to sleep.
Wednesday
IT was a bit cooler in the morning, so after awaking and asking Diane to come over to watch Bella so i could get ready for the day, we took Bella over to the park. My baby is fearless. She was climbing up everything, going everywhere, and playing with other kids. There was only one part I didn’t want her on, as I couldn’t climb around with her and there were other kids on it. After we played for a bit, we headed back to the cabin for some “rest”time. It was really humid, so it took a lot of of you. Bella rested with her Tink movie and actually fell asleep. I was so happy! She slept until Josh arrive in time for lunch. We went over to Duane and Diane’s camper to make Pizza pockets. Bella actually ate a bit of one. I was shocked.
After lunch, Josh had to head back to do more combining so Diane and I took Bella and headed to the beach. It was much nicer at the beach then by the cabin. Bella really loved the water. She walked out up to her neck with no worries. It freaked me out a bit. We did play in the sand a bit with Matt, who I think would be Bella's 4th cousin. He dug holes in teh sand and she climbed in them. one of them he filled with water and she thought it was the greatest thing. We didn’t stay at the beach too long as I knew Bella was kind of tired and i was getting worried with her no fear in the water. so back to the cabin for a bit more rest. Also a nice A/c break for me.
We had another late supper, once Josh got back . we hung out by the fire and Bella got to run about. Once it was smores time, Diane took Bella back to our cabin and laid down with her while Josh and I got to enjoy the fire. I, of course, came back all bite up, but it was a good time. Thank you Diane. Bella went to sleep much quicker than the night before, but I on the other hand didn’t get much sleep due to iching!
Thursday
Thursday it was much cooler. Josh was able to greet us in the morning bring us doughnuts. Yummy! After he left Duane, Diane and I started to play the farming game. Bella was more then happy to chill out and watch Go Diego Go. Pretty sure Bella loves camping now due to being able to chill watching large amounts of DVD”s. She even ended up falling asleep which i hadn’t accounted for. Duane ended up winning, but it was very close between him and Diane. I came in third but at least my net assets was over 250,000. So that made me happy.
We ended up playing pretty long so it was a late lunch for us. Duane grilled out hamburgers for him and Diane and hot dogs for Bella and me. Bella naturally didn’t want to eat hers, but i enjoyed mine.
After a late lunch and a bit of cleaning up, Duane and Diane took Bella and Me back to the farm. I needed a shower! Bella needed to rest in her own bed. It was a nice little break.
Once Josh was done with Milking, all three of us headed back up the campsite. We did early supper, early smores and early to bed for everyone.
Friday
Friday, Josh arrived up at the cabin with breakfast pizza. It was really yummy! then it was time to pack up. It was sad to leave, and we really enjoyed our time at the little cabin. I hope it works out next year to get it again and for Josh to be able to spend more time up there with us.
