Laid back weekend

So this past weekend  has been pretty laid back. Saturday morning the three of us when to an open house at cook’s woods. They were hosting it for their maple syrup. We got to learn how they do their processes of sap to syrup and try some Maple goodies.  Naturally we came home with some Maple syrup and Josh got Maple root beer. It was a bit chilly so we didn’t stay too long.

Then we came home and attempted to get Bella to nap. Josh went to work on finishing up barn chores while I worked on uploading pictures and picking things up.  Once Josh was done we both had a quick lunch and then woke up Bella. She would eat on the go since she doesn’t like lunch anyhow, only Snack! We did this so we could go Bowling!

We met up with Kara and Tony to bowl in Fennimore. The lanes are so tiny, but it was the perfect setting to take Bella for the first time.  She took a little bit to warm up to everything since she had just been woke up, but quickly started to give out “high 5”  I did great the first game and went down hill after that. Everyone else got better. The 2nd game I let Bella “bowl” with me. She did pretty good since i had to help carry and push the ball down the lanes.  the third game i was just tired and there was no hope for me.

After bowling we came home and help josh work on the fence. Ok so he worked, I talked to him and Bella went to explore. It was an area that i really hadn’t explored either, so it was a goodtime. A bit windy, but i’m learning that it’s always windy here!

Sunday we hit up church then came back home to hang out. Bella took a nap, then Josh took a nap during part of Bella’s nap. I caught up with Tori while my house was quiet. Once everyone woke up we watch Open Season 2 before it was time to milk.

Martin and Judy showed up to visit the pony and then took Bella down to see Hershey too. Bella seem to enjoy that. I hate going down there and worrying about the pony getting out or Bella shocking herself on the eclectic fence. 

I was pretty tired and not to hungery so we had a quiet meal before bed.. a good but quiet weekend. We need it since april is BUSY!!!

Our Week… Picture Style

 

Our Week has been pretty normal for us. We went out to playgroup on Tuesday and hit up the library due to our crappy driveway. Our driveway is all ruts and bumpy. My poor car barely made it down when we came home on Sunday.  We did run errands with Josh on Wednesday but then spent Thursday and Friday at home. Of course that does not mean we weren’t busy…..

While I was working on started my seeds, Bella got to play in her kitchen.

 

Bella helped to plant some of the seeds.  I”m not sure of those seeds are going to make it, but we have plenty more if they don’t.

My wonderful friend, Sarah, made this really cute Dress for Bella.

 

Due to a really loooooooong Nap, she got to stay up a bit later and watch Cars in Mommy and Daddy’s bed.

 

Thursday was our lazy day. We were suppose to have plans, but things didn’t work out. It was also a blah day, so Bella and I hung out inside while Josh did farm stuff outside.

 

Bella had fun just hanging out. I had fun being entertained with her. It’s amazing what at 2.5 year old will say or do.

  

Once Daddy got in from milking and supper was done, we played Yahtzee. Bella did great the first game since we forgot you can roll three times.  The 2nd game she wasn’t as into so instead she kept her own score.

Friday was a long day. I was just tired from staying home so much, Bella was antsy from not being outside much. So we had to make our own fun!

 

Bella with Tink only moments before she fell and broke Tink’s arm and hand off.  Later while Bella napped I had to before ‘surgery’ and reattach the arm and hand. Only once did i get it stuck to me instead.

We went outside in the morning to burn off some energy and Bella had fun in the mud.

 

After mud fun, we went inside for a nap. Once Bella woke up, I let her have lunch in our bed.

More dress up fun. I put all of her dress up clothes in a bucket and she loves that she can get them herself. It was a hard choice of what to pick.

That night we went out for the first fish fry of the Lenten season. Bella did great and i actually ate fish. WE are looking forward to getting out as a family for these fridays leading up to Easter. :)

Rainy Sunday

So finally made it to the last day of our long weekend! Naturally we woke up to rain and lots of it! It was not fun packing up the car with all the rain, but I managed. I ended up leaving Bella with my mom for the morning, since mom won’t see her again for a few weeks. I headed off to Tori’s in the rain. Have I ever mentioned I HATE driving on blacktop in the rain.  I was grateful to be alone in the car.

Tori and I had a good time just chatting, letting me catch up online, checking out pictures. We had a small lunch and continued to catch up. There is only so much you can talk about in email. 

My mom arrived at Tori’s shortly after we had lunch. Bella got to go to McDonald’s with Nana and Aunt Darlene..so she was very  happy. Then she got to go to Auntie Tori’s and see the Frogs. I’m pretty sure that is the only thing she did for the whole 30-45 mins we were there.

 

 

 

I manged to make it home with out having to drive in anymore rain! Josh helped to unload the car before milking and then we just had a quiet night. I was glad to be home again!!!
