Sunday was the day of the benefit for Josh, to help raise funds to help us get by. Hiring on help for the whole summer along with all the travel really hurt us. Josh’s sister , Kara organized the whole event. We stayed out of the planning and just showed up to the event on the actual day. This was the least stress choice for us. Planning and large get together stress me out. I love to do them, but freak out if they don’t go as planned. This way I don’t know what went as planned or not planned.
It was held in Fennimore from 7am until 12pm .I wasn’t sure how the kids would do being up there that long, so Tori and Dylan stayed with them at our house until I came to pick them up. Josh and I were planning to be there at 7:30but due to chores we didn’t get up there until just before 8am. We got there and there was a good number of people there. I noticed that some of Bella’s classmates were there and playgroup friends, so I felt bad the kids weren’t there. So once I got done eating I left to go get them.
When I returned 30 mins later the place was busy. There was a lot of people there and I think a lot of people hung out for almost the whole thing. Bella took off as soon as she saw Aunt Olivia and Max only want Aunt Diane. Of course that was nice for me, but I would have to have my kids around me a bit more. Tori and I hung out a bit . We also checked out the silent auction. There were a lot of great items on it. So many of them I could have bid myself, but naturally I didn’t.
There was a great turn out over 400 tickets were sold for breakfast. I think they actually ran out of food. The kids had a great time playing and running around. Josh was able to visit with a lot of people and seemed to enjoy himself. I’ll admit I was a bit on the shyer side and stick to those who knew. The auction actually lasted until 12:30pm and it was too funny the last 30 mins of people watching their bids and making sure they would win. There was so much so it was hard not to find something to win.
We stayed after it was over to visit and what not before we loaded up to head home. Thanks to all those who came out and helped out. Thanks Kara for organizing it . Thanks to those who weren’t able to attend but send in donation. Thanks to those who donated items and who bid on them.
Once we got home, Max went down for a nap, Bella a rest and Josh tried to rest too. When it came chore time it was just too nice to stay insides, so we all headed outside. The kids had fun in the mud and snow. I tried to use the wagon in the barn, but Max is a stinker and knows all the fun places to go on his own, so yeah that didn’t work at all. But we had a lots of fun outside
