Max is sick ..then Mommy then Daddy … hopefully not Bella

So last week feels so lost. Max came down with a fever Monday night and it never left until Saturday night. So we had some sleepless nights Monday and Tuesday night. Then on Wednesday I started feeling icky, Thursday josh started feeling icky too. We took Max to the doctor where we found out it wasn’t the flu or strep, just a nasty virus. But talking to some people from Bella's school it sounds like it has been going around.  So our week was mostly taking care of him.

Monday Josh had a CT scan so we went to Dodgeville for that and then Wednesday we went back to Dodgeville for the doctor’s appt. Max really was sick as he slept though the whole appointment.

Bella got to go to latchkey on Monday. It was to make up missing the week before due to the snow.  She also went to gymnastics on Wednesday. I should have gotten a picture of her crazy outfit. No telling that child it’s 0 degrees out.  Friday was kindergarden roundup and so I went to see Bella perform at school.

This was max’s opinion. I share it because this is our life. He wasn’t feeling well and until it was picture time he was in a good mood. We might have to move our family picture spot.

Saying goodbye to the Quilt

Today I said goodbye to a Quilt. It’s not just any quilt it was one that was created out of love by one person with the help of 32 others. The 32 and then some are part of a group that came together when we were all pregnant with our “December 2011” babies. Well our babies all came at different times starting in Oct and ending middle of December.  We have gotten to really know each other and wanted to come up with a way to comfort those who were struggling. We live coast to coast and have so many different backgrounds, so all of us traveling or even one or two traveling to the one who was struggling wasn’t an opinion. Thus the quilt was born. With the help of Sew Sassy Creations, 31 ones of us sent in fabric that reminds us of our babies.. Like I send in a John Deere onesie for Max.  Everyone wants to see the quilt in person, yet no one wants to be going through a rough time to get it.

The quilt around the time that we found out for sure that Josh’s cancer was back. It was a rough time for me. Unless you go through it, it’s hard to find someone who can really relate to the feelings. We weren’t given much hope and had to wait for appointments to find out if surgery was even possible.  My best friends live 2 hours away and are busy in their own lives that it’s not like they could drop everything to spend two plus weeks with me while we sat in limbo. Also I didn’t want anyone around either.  I’m a supporter, the one who’s shoulder people cry on… I’m not fan of the other way around. So when this quilt arrived it was perfect. I could cuddle up with it and feel the love form miles around.

This quilt was on our bed every night. I took it to the hospital with me when josh was recovering from surgery. I wish I would have taken more pictures with it. But when the time came to pass it on, I tried to get some pictures with. My photos don’t do it justice as I’m not sure how to show the love correctly. My only real regret was I should have gotten a family picture with it.

I”ve passed it on now and pray that it brings the comfort and support to the next woman and family that it did to us.

Max wasn’t in the mood for pictures. Little did we know what was going to come by the night fall.

Sunday Funday

Sunday we didn’t have a real plan as to what we were going to do, but it turned out to be a pretty good day. We were all up and ready to go early, so Josh made breakfast while the kids played and I got ready. After eating the kids got ready and Josh did too, so we could head to church. On the way there we decided to called Grandpa and Grandma Judy to see if they wanted to meet for Lunch. We had to wait until we got done with church to find out if they were free.

Church went pretty well. We had family friends behind us so that helped, but Max was just so tired.  We made it through and just as we loaded up the car, the phone rang. Grandpa called to say they were free to meet for Lunch and suggested a great buffet place. Max managed to stay away until we were about 10 mins from the restaurant. We worried he would be cranky, but he did really well. We all went to eat right away and both kids sort of ate. I swear my kids are the only ones who don’t eat when outside and about, even if we offer them sweets and other yummy things.

Then we went on a little adventure to find an eagle’s nest. WE don’t know if it’s a real one or one that was just built like one.  Only downside was the fact it was pretty chilly out.

Afterwards we drove the long way to Cabela’s to check out more eagle’s nest. We saw two of them, but no eagles. Then it was to cabela’s to see the fish. The kids enjoyed that. They also enjoyed hanging out in the store with someone other then mom and dad.  The two came out with new tackle boxes.

On the way home we stopped at Walmart for medcine for Max. Then headed home where Max napped the whole way home. He was so grumpy that we just let him do his own thing.. which means both kids ended up playing with the train board

A Saturday afternoon walk

So it wasn’t the warmest it had been, but not the coldest either. We spend the morning watching the state cheerleading via the computer..We watched to see Sara. Then I spend the morning trying to clean out toys from the kids rooms and the basement. Then by afternoon we were all stir crazy, so we bundled up to take a walk outside. We ended up going down by the dam and the pond. This time we actually made it across the pond. Max was a bit fussy with it all, but we figured it was just from his molars coming in. (yep we are almost done with teeth! )

These picture are so not in order. I’m sorry.

We also love finding icicles to eat. Mas had one through out the whole walk. Our biggest problem is finding safe ones to eat.

Two of kind here. I swear Spunky needs to be with max. She will often lay on the floor just inches from him when he play sin the living room too.  Here was the first sign he was not feeling well.
