Max is two

DSC_2641 copy

Oh Maxon Charlie, Mommy is not ready for this day yet. I swear you are still my slightly yellow colored dark haired little boy that I brought home from the hospital. You have changed and grown so much.

I think you are around 27 lbs and 34 inchs tall. (offical stats will be updated after your doctor’s appt on the 20th) You have sandy blond hair, blue eyes and the cutest little dimple in your cheek. You are wearing 18 months pants and shirts along with 24 month one pieces outfits or jammies. You wear size 6.5 shoe and size 4 diapers.

Oh there is so much that you like and do these days. Your favorite thing is your trains and tractors. I swear you have one or the other with you at all time. Sometimes you play with both together. I mean everyone knows tractors drive on train tracks, right ? Smile You watch Thomas and chuggington at least twice a day. you will just find your tractor and drive it around the floor without another care in the world or bothering anyone. You are over the moon when I set up your train track and let you go wild. You play with them inside and outside. Matter of fact you have your own tractors for just outside. You say “ooo-ooo” for the trains as you drive them around.

Speaking of talking, you still aren’t a fan of it. You say ‘esse” for cheese. bubble, cow, duck, uh-oh(#1 fav word) and go.You wave for bye and sign milk, please, thank you, help and water.  I’m not really sure of the reason for your lack of talking, but hopefully that will change beore you turn three. Then when I’m complaining that you are talking too much, remind me I asked for it.

Eating with you is funny. You have been a fan of Breakfast and Lunch in the last few months, but it’s rare you sit down to join us for supper. You eat a couple bites and then you are done. You are hit or miss with snacking too. Some days that’s all you want to do, other days if no one goes into the kitchen you don’t care about food. We discovered you really only like chocolate milk. the Doctor wanted you to drink more, but it seems only adding chocolate makes you drink more. Totally a habit we will work on breaking in the next year. Your favorites still seems to be meat, mostly hamburger, and applesauce. you also enjoy cereal with milk and pancakes. Most of the time you will try just about anything, but that 2nd bite is guaranteed.  the other say you ate about three raw carrots , that was a first for you. I’m hoping once you have all your teeth in your eating habits will change.

Your almost done with teething!!! Not that I’ve enjoyed the last month or so, but so happy that you are getting your two year molars in early. You have all your teeth except for one top molar. One looks like it was about to break through and that was last week, so hoping it broke through. Totally ready to be passed the teething stage.

When you are teething it’s affected your sleep. Mommy and daddy are not a fan of waking up in the middle of the night anymore, but it seems that you do wake up for a couple nights and a new tooth has broken through. Otherwise you sleep from about 7:45pm until about 6;15am. The time change took about a week to get you changed around, but since then you have been good. You nap about three hours a day, weather it be one three hour nap or two 1.5 hour naps. Maybe this winter we will figure the best nap time for you.

We stay pretty busy these days with Bella in school. I thought we would spend more time at home, but that’s not the case at all. Tuesday you go with mommy to a playgroup where you have some friends your own age. There is one little girl you like to play with. We are working on you playing nicely with other kids. Honestly I think you ask like an only child sometimes since Bella is gone most of the day at school. Then on Wednesdays we have storytime at the library. We seem to run some sort of errands on Fridays  Thursdays is the only day we really stay home. You do pretty well with all of it, as long as there is the dvd player on in the car.

We’ve had our first taste of snow and cold in the month before your birthday. I can already see this is going to be some problems. You aren’t a fan of staying inside. Thankfully you enjoyed the snow and have a snowsuit and boots. The lime pile in the back of the barn is still your favorite, thought you do enjoy playing with the seed in the sprouting room too. You still love your tractor rides with daddy, too.

A rough schedule of your day

6:30am wake up, cippy of milk and tv until daddy comes in

7:00am: daddy comes in , breakfest and getting ready for the day.

7:40am: Bella leaves for school, sometimes we go with for our adventures other days we need distractions because you are not happy to be left behind.

11:30ish : wake up.

Weekly wrap up April 2nd-April 6th

Monday: Well Max had a rough night, like in pain rough, so I finally got us into the doctor. I’ve been battling something since the previous week and Max had picked up a cough and slight runny nose. I just felt so bad for him. Well our appointment wasn’t until the afternoon, so I attempted to get something done in the house. Didn’t work very well. We went to the doctor’s to find out that I have a virus(I’m not really surprised) and Max has the start of an ear infection. we are holding off on antibiotics though as it might be viral since I have a virus. We had to help Josh with chores, so I bundled Max up and out we went. it worked out good.. Max only wants to sleep being up right, and he got to be that way in the carrier.  We also let the cows out to pasture for the first time. Josh did it a bit differently then normal, so it took a bit more work to show the cows the fresh grass. They passed through our yard and didn’t want to keep going. Yeah for free lawnmowers!

Tuesday: Slightly better night for Max. But it was rough for me to wake up. Thankfully since it was a school day, Josh was taking Bella to school. He also had appointments in town, so I was on my own to get ready. I joined Josh up town to do some car shopping. We found out we liked and tried out about three other ones, but we didn’t fit in them.  So the one we did fit in we took for a test drive and picked up bella from school.  Then spent the next hour and half figuring out if we could afford it.  We ended up saying we would think about it then doing lunch up at the Lancaster house. While on the way home we decided we could afford it and called the sales guy back to say we want it. Winking smile The rest of the day was spent trying to not mess up the house more. Bella didn’t take a nap so she was overall tired. We had twin heifer calves born so that made chores fun… but Josh late.

Wednesday: Max was up at midnight again, but then slept until 6am. Bella slept until 7:30 so I got to have a quiet morning to myself. I can totally start the day at 6am. We then went to storytime where Max was awake the whole time. Poor little guy only got some short cat naps in the morning. The rest of the afternoon was spend attempting to get caught up on laundry. Josh also went up town to make a down payment on our car so that they would get it fixed up in time for us to have it for the weekend.  I also attempted to help out with chores since we had two more calves born, but not sure I was much help. I also finally got the mulch put around half of my front garden Smile

Thursday was a very crazy day. We were still waiting on financing from the bank. So it came down to the wire as to what we were going to do. Bella was at school in the morning and I had to go get her after we started the paper signing for the new car. Then it took a bit to get everything transferred to the new car. But we all love all the space we have!  We got home did lunch and then I headed out to Platteville with both kids. I had last minute Easter shopping to do including getting Bella’s bike. Only a little meltdown over that one. it’s so weird to drive the new car.

Friday was suppose to be my cleaning day, but let me tell ya, I didn’t get too much of it done. Max just need a lot of Mommy time. We started Rest time with Bella who promptly fell asleep when I told her she just has to lay quietly in her bed. I did get my pie made for saturday though. Smile

Weekly review: Mid January

I’m so living life again. We are finally back to a normal routine. Don’t get me wrong i still go crazy with our new normal, but nothing big or major is happening, which is good. Winter has officially arrived so we are back to staying in the house pretty much all the time. Bella goes out with Josh for tractor rides or to hang out in the barn since it’ about 40’s in there. I tend to go out during the day for little errands. Max likes to sleep in his car seat if the car is moving. Sometimes i leave Max at home for a short time with Josh and do something with just Bella. Mommy and Bella time is pretty limited these days.  We have been attempting to do more family stuff too, like going with Josh on the hunt for some farm equipment he’s looking for.  Otherwise i spend my days trying to get caught up around the house, Max might be little but he sure has added to my laundry load.

Yes there are cows outside. those are the dry cows. No I don’t like them out there, but their shelter is the trees and they choose to stand waiting to get into the yard. BTW PETA people are trying to make this happen for all our cows in the winter.

jan update 123

Winter anyone?

jan update 120

I’m slowly getting back into cloth diapering. THis diaper was custom made for Max since he’s my little bee. :) thank you Sarah!!

 jan update 121

After a really explosive poopy diaper, Max got a bath. He really enjoyed it this time. I got smart and made sure the only water touching him was from the washcloth. Before his back/butt was getting wet and he wasn’t a fan

I got out the bumbo chair for Max. At first he wasn’t sure, but then he gave me smiles. He lasted a whole 5 mins before he was done.
