oct 18th–Max’s Ears

Well I think I mentioned before that Max would have to have Ear tubes put in. Poor little guy had 7, I think, ear infections in just 5 short months. If you know anything about the fact that the medinces to treat them are about 10 days long that doesn’t really give him much healing time between. So we decided it would be for the best.

Fast forward to the 18th. Max can’t have any food or drink after midnight, thankfully we have to be at the hospital at 6;30am..but Max loves to eat at 2:30, 4, 5, and 6am..so can you see where there is a problem? I feed him at midnight but he still woke up at 3am and refused to go back to sleep. Poor little guy just didn’t understand, so I let him play with my phone and then in his room. It worked to at least keep him quiet. Of course it woke up Bella so that was hard to get her back to sleep, but thankfully she did. Josh and I ate a quick breakfast and headed to the hospital. My mom was here to watch Bella and get to her to school.

Once we got in the car, Max fell back asleep so at least he wasn’t fussy for the whole car ride. We had to go to Upland Hills in Dodgeville. Once we got there it was pretty quick. They got us back right away as Max was first up. They gave him some medicine to relax him, which he took like a champ.  He got really loopy and not at all like my baby. We met with the doctors and nurses who would take care of him. Once he was all hooked up and vitals were taken they picked him up with his blanket and took him away. He was gone about 15 mins before I heard him screaming, then he got the other little kid that was there screaming. They brought him back to his room and he was so unhappy and confused. Poor little thing wouldn’t stop crying. We tried for about 25 mins before they just say you can go and call if something changes.

Once in the car he finally quieted down and fell asleep. We got home and I finally was able to feed him before he passed out again. He slept pretty much most of the morning hours. He woke up around lunch time, ate again and then was just cranky until he went down for another nap. Then once he woke up from that nap he was doing a bit better. He played with a new toy from Nana and Bella.Once Bella woke up for her nap, we went outside. Poor little guy thought has some issues walking right, but that didn’t stop him.

Thankfully by the next morning he was back to his normal self and acted as if nothing was wrong.

we went to the barn.. Max loves to crawl around in the feed and play in the water cups. I see this winter being very messy.

The boy was so sleepy after being outside and wouldn’t nap. so I just took him in bed with me and laid next to him. while I watched Tv, he fell asleep. he was so peaceful!

First skinned up knee

On good ol’ April  fool’s day, Bella got her first skinned up knee. She got it on the concrete, but I’m not 100% sure since I didn’t notice it right away, nor did she really cry about it.

We cleaned it off and then wrapped it in the bandages use for the cow’s hooves since it’s sticky and for some reason Bella didn’t mind that at all. Now bandaids she rips off in 2 seconds, but this she left on for a few hours!! I told josh we might have to find something like this for humans or invest it more of it.

Just a normal week in winter

So the holidays are over. now it’s time to get back to normal. I really tried how to remember what things were like last year after the holiday slow down, but I can’t remember. All I do remember is I didn’t have the wonderful playgroup and story time that I do now. I wasn’t even a regular blogger or tweeter…just on face book, which if anyone knows it’s near impossible to go back to what was happening a year ago. But I guess it really doesn’t matter, as Bella is totally mobile in all directions, and communicating with words. So life with a baby would be sitting up and rolling around is nothing like a baby who’s almost a year half old!.

So this week Monday we had a visitor, my buddy Katie. It was nice to see her and visit. I don’t think we have done that in ages. Bella was a very good baby and even napped while Katie was here. After she left Bella and I headed to the barn. That night she got some new jammies.… they are Wonder Pet Jammies. They are suppose to be for a little boy, but I haven’t found any cute little girl’s wonder pets Jammies. She really enjoyed them and knows where each of the characters are.

Tuesday we went to Playgroup. It was nice to be back. Bella really had fun and didn’t want to leave.  IT was really cold, but we braved it to go to town. We came home and lunch and then Bella took a nap!  some how it ended up being a late night for milking and chores, so that pushed everything else behind. I did finally get some pictures of our new calves. Unfortunaly we have lost two bull calves..Taco that I mentioned before and another one named Taco that was only a couple days old. I guess I might have to retire the name Taco.

Wednesday was a crazy day. Bella and I had to run to the post office to mail out my jump drives so Tori could upload my pictures, (have i mentioned how much I hate that I’m limited to what i can upload?), then we had to stop at the bank and check into who’s name was on her savings account as the system says there is no adult. Well we need one on there, come to find out it’s just Josh and not me or the both of us, so that was on stop i should have left to Josh. LOL Then we hit up story time, where it was crazy busy, I think everyone came back, but once the actual story time was done, Bella had fun playing with her friend. Then we set off for the vet. It was time to get dewormer for All the cats and Cole. Well that went great until the last 30 seconds as Bella fell off the bench and hit her head on the ground… btw she would have used her hands if they hadn’t been holding on to candy.  So then I freaked out because after she calmed down and got in the car and was all happy and smily she got sleepy… also i should note that she was up at 6:30 am and by now it’s 11:30 and normally she naps by 10 or 11 at the latest… so I stop at Pamida to get a few things to wake Bella up too. SHe did fine in the store and then stayed awake the whole way home. It was lunch time when we got home and  I prayed she would nap. She did finally… a 2 hour 15 min nap! By the time we got up it was time for milking.  She did end up with a big ol’ goose egg on her head that was a light purple when she went to bed, but woke up in the morning and you could barely tell it was there.

Thursday, the snow had came… well at least 4 to 5 inches of it anyhow. I decided it was still warm enough yet to let Bella go out and play in it. Well then Josh said he had to go the Lancaster house to shovel. So yeah Bella got about 5 mins in the snow before we loaded her up, then she fell asleep in the truck. She slept the whole time we were in town and back home. Gave her lunch and then dealt with a cranky baby til she finally went to sleep again.  We started chores early since it was windy and blowing snow. I didn't’ want  to be out in the dark trying to feed calves, especially one who was new to the huts. So that gave me a nice break while Josh milked.

Today: While Bella napped I cleaned my house. I really haven’t done it yet this week, so it was much needed. I need to work on laundry, but that will have to wait til this weekend.  Once she got up, we had lunch, where I found a jar of cashew butter and it was so yummy, I think better than the almond butter. I’m diggin the other nut butters. Pretty sure we are going to convert completely once we are done with the peanut butter jars.  Then we went to town. It was amazing that with the sun shining how great the roads were especially since yesterday they were awful! Bella and I played in the house while Josh shoveled. Bella loves to play in the lancaster house since it’s wide open space! then we hit up the grocery store where we put to go use our xmas gift from Grandma and Grandpa.  Then we came home and attempted to give Bella and afternoon nap. She had other ideas, so again chores were started early and I got to head back to the house for a little break. I managed to update the shutterfly site and get pictures up on facebook. the pics on facebook have all been posted here already.

And since I just used a lot of words… here are a few pictures from this week.. pretty much one a day :)

Fall is here!

So fall is only a week late.  IT started to cool off on saturday, good thing I got out Bella’s fall clothes.  But it wasn’t really til Monday that it got really chilly and windy. 

Monday I did a major cleaning of hte house. I rearraged Josh’s and mine Bedroom all by myself.  It’s so nice. I’m trying to work on decluttering.  So right now it’s pretty clean! Bella’s not so sold on it since now she has to climb up one end to get on the bed and then turn to the side to see the tv.  But we added her rocking chair in our room for her so she can read books, play with toys, or whatever too. 

Bella was kind of in a mood yesterday, and did all her naps early. But Grandma(judy) came to visit. Bella really enjoyed that. Grandma gave her a pony ride on Hershey.  In the last couple of weeks Bella has acutally like the pony. Or else just hanging out with the pony with Grandma has helped her like the pony.

I also got Bella’s chair fixed up and hopefully we won’t scratch it again.

Daddy is working on chopping Corn, so we got to ride along for some loads and play in the cornlige. Bella loved picking out the cobs that didn’t get all the way chopped up.  Bella didn’t enjoy being all bundled up. I had to put her mittens on her and she hated that!  So we helped with getting in the cows. They were really dumb and didn’t want to stay in the stalls becuase they didn’t like the food in front of them Out in the cow yard was some of the freash cornlige, so yeah they didn’t like the  stuff in the barn.

Josh was able to get 23 loads in the silo and he hopes to have it full with 12 more loads today.   We only have touched the fields in the bottom which mean we should be able to sell some corn to pay off debts. :)

Today was playgroup. It was a smaller group, but bella had a good time. She would play with the kids and then go off on her own and then back. we did music time this week, and bella was so so on it.  We did have on incident where bella fell and hit her eye on a toy, i just pray for no black  eye. she was a troop though and only cried for a min or two, got her nuk and went off to play again. I  got to talk to other mom’s and talk about some issues with Bella that i didn’t know what to do, and that helped a lot. Also I get to join the book club!  Things are looking up i think.

Before leaving town, bella and I had to hit up Dick’s Piggly Wiggly for food and stuff for Nikki’s baby shower. I’m really loooking forward to this weekend!

Last night Bella and I did go to the park to hang otu while Josh got his oats and peas raked. Bella had a blast playing in the litte house they ahve set up. She also loved the woodchips. she is just fascatied by them. We ened up going home and then putting Bella to bed before Josh went back to round bale everything he raked. He got it all done and was home by 10ish which was nice.

This morning started early with a whole lot of vehicals driving around. Josh had to move all the round bales home while I cleaned up the house a bit, something I've put off all week. also had to get bella down for a nap.

Kayla showed up for a bit to visit, which Bella enjoyed since she hasn't seen her in a bit. Then Bella got to go with Daddy, John Ihm and his two sons to get the last load of the round bales. John and the boys were over to help Josh figure how to work the wrapper for the round bales.

at lunch time Diane and Duane showed up. Bella was excited to see them. She loved the straws that Uncle Duane let her play with. after a bit, he went outside to pratice shoting cute little animals with his bow while Aunt Diane got a ton of lovin' from Bella. She really missed her. Bella is also showing off that she can stand up on her own and can stand for quite a bit of time. It's only days til she figures otu the steping thing. Oh where has my little baby gone?

Bella also got another boo-boo from one of hte animals, Anners was playin and thought Bella wanted to, too, and got Bella with her claws. Bella didn't seem to mind much. I think i was more worried/upset.

It was then Nap time. Diane and I check out the garden and while Bella was napping , Diane and duane had to head home. But it was ok since we were invited out to visit thier land tomorrow. Bella will be surprised tomorrow for sure!

We have had a normal fussy evening since she got up from her nap, i think her teeth are moving in her mouth, jsut not poping through yet. :(

What a week!

Sorry for lack up dates. I think the heat has taken over and we ahve been pretty busy.
Tuesday we spend the morning hanging out with daddy and getting ready to leave for watertown. Bella go to play in her pool in the morning. then we went to help daddy get the cows in and Bella and me got a boo-boo from Cole. Bella's ws only a scratch and no blood. Mine not so much.
We left around 1ish. Bella napped pretty good on the way there. Once we got to town we went to shopko to hang out in the air conditioning til Nana got done with work. Then we went to supper at Perkins since it was cool there too. Bella had a blast waving at everyone. Then we were off to visit Tori and Dylan. We hung out in her apartment for a bit. We got to meet Eli and Bella loved his keys. Then it was off to Dylan's t-ball game. He did a great job. It was so much fun to see the little kids play. Thank god we were in teh shade even though it was still like 100 degrees out there. Bella did really well so i was thankful for that.
Once we got to my mom's not so much. It was warm and bella was just not going to sleep. So it was a long warm night.
Wedensday we got up and ready for the day then went to walmart. Mom's house was getting to me. We walked aorund there til it ws time to head off to Hannah's house. we got to have fun playdate there with Ella. The girls are getting so big and starting to understand that there is another baby around. After that we headed back home.
Yesterday we had Greg, Bella's godfather and josh's best friend, visit. He's been away at school in Rome, Italy, so we haven't seen him since Bella's baptism. It was great to see him and Bella LOVED him. So it was a really good time since Bella enjoy hanging on him. we also hung out in the pool in the afternoon too. Bella enjoys the pool but would rather be able to go in and out of it when she wants too. which as of right now doesn't work to well.
Today Josh is gone for most of the day cuting hay and oats for a customer. But we got news about Great grandpa to bella and grandpa to me and josh. He's in the hospital in ICU or else bella and i would go visit him today. We are going to try to go tomorrow. So please say a little prayer for him.
