Jan 9 : emotions, cold and speech

The last few days have been a bit crazy. Tuesday, school was canceled again. My poor daughter was getting bored at home to say the least. Max was cranky for having his sister messing up his routine. Josh and I were working on getting things set up for selling things, figuring what bills needed to be paid , ect. It was not a pleasant time. This meant all of us were on each other's nerves.
I decided to just live with the bad day but tomorrow would be better.

This kept the kids busy for an hour or two. But takes up the whole living room so probably added to my craziness.

I wished Wed started out better. The vacuum pump motor stopped working, so josh as majorly late with starting milking. Well last minute I had to get Max ready to go. He fought me getting dressed and screamed all the way to school and back home. Turns out it was a very simple issue with the motor but still threw josh behind. Max settled down in time for us to go to the library. He had a good time there, as there was only two other little boys. We then headed to Bella's school to drop off her boots. I also had to talk to her teacher and a friend about a school event.
By the time I got Max home he was out cold. He manage to sleep until it was time to get Bella from school. I took Max with me and he was so happy to get out of the house again. After we got Bella we stopped at shopko to get medicines for Max and josh. No they aren't sick, just normal Max stuff and pre surgery stuff for josh.
It seems we got home in time for snacks and Bella to get ready for gymnastics. Oh it was great to get back to her class. She had a blast. It was home for supper and bed. Then josh and I worked on a permanent configuration for max's wooden train track. The goal is to put it on a board and have it for a surprise while josh is recovering.
Today, our morning went much smoother. Bella got ready and out the door to school with no hassle or fuss. Max seemed to have a good morning until about 10 minutes to 9. I spent the morning picking up our house. How it go so messy with us not really be home , I don't understand. Then at 9:15 max's speech therapist arrived. Max wasn't so sure at first about her, but quickly warmed up when she started playing trains. It was a good appt for her to get to know Max, but warn me this isn't going to be easy. Matter of fact we have to back off and relax about his lack of talking and wait for him to speak . With all that's going on, I hope I can relax about it yet help him at the same time.
As soon as she left Max declared he was ready for a nap, but I was a mean mom and kept him up until lunchtime.  Durning the holidays Max got naps here and there at all different times, so I took that as a cue to move to one nap a day and in the afternoon, since all our extra stuff is mornings. For the last week it's worked out, but today was hard.
Josh came in for an early lunch and then Mac went down to nap. That meant mommy time for me.
Max woke up and we wen together to get Bella from school. We all came home and the kids did great playing. The climber was blowed up one last time so that kept them entertained. We had supper and bath. I think we were all ready for bed. Looking forward to tomorrow being Friday.

Jan 21st A ray of sunshine through the gray

Ok I’ll admit Monday was a rough day. I came home from a family and friends high to a house that was a disaster and stinky, part was my fault I will admit. It was rough sailing for me personally. But  I at least got everything we brought home put away, so that was a perk. Monday morning came and it was just one of those you wish you could go back to bed and start over. By afternoon, when the kids were both finally napping the UPS man arrived with a wonderful gift for me, a new lens for my camera. So guess who’s got bitten by the shutter bug again?? Yep that’s right me. ONly I couldn’t play too long before I had to head to town for my annual check up. I have to stay in good health since it seems everyone else in my family isn’t. LOL  It was totally weird to go for me, btw.  On the way there we were suppose to pick up my car, only we ran out of time, so thankfully a good friend help Josh out and they delivered my car to me. SmileI got a clean bill of health and came home feeling much better about myself. I even squeezed in a work out before I went to the doctor too.  That little gift for just me was just what I needed to turn around my attitude. Thank you to my Darlings Smile

Now on to some new pictures.. they aren’t the greatest, but I’m still learning…lots! but I can you I feel in love right away.

Nov 5th–Recovery Momday

So After being gone all weekend, there was a lot to be done in the house. While I worked on cleaning, the kids play with the new toy I brought them home. It was just a semi relaxing day. Also both kids didn’t’ want to be out of my sight.  It was nice to just be home and stay home.  I’m sure though we did probably run errands with josh bc that’s what normally happens but it’s still all together.

As with any day, it can become a casual day around the house.  Josh and his dad were working on the bin so Bella checked that out after she got done with school. she had fun playing outside, it might be chillier but still really nice out.

Max loves the cats.. Anners and Spunky especially . And no Anners doesn’t harm him. It’s actually surprising how good she is with him.

Oct 10th– A walk and a treasure

Well the day started off a bit rough. Josh got up late so he was running late, Bella got up on the wrong side of the bed and I was feeling stressed about getting everything done today. Well I start by saying I didn’t get all that I wanted done today, but instead I enjoy some wonderful mommy and kiddo time.

I took Bella to school this morning and we were actually early. Then I went and got us a spot at church. Josh and max met up with me. Max wasn’t really in the mood to sit still through church, so he walked the pew and crawled around. I know I shouldn’t let him, but it makes him much happier and less noisy. I figure people won’t notice him moving around but they would hear him.  Well once church got done Bella came to say hi to us and Max went to visit other people in church.  Once we were done there I had to head over to the church office to do have a form for a background check filled out. We Ran into Father Bill who commented on Max’s “roaming “ We just said he really wants to be up front with you. Father Bill just laughed.

Josh and I went our separate ways then. I took Max back to the Lancaster house to feed and change him. Then we went for a little ride, got me a snack, gas in the car and headed to the library. Max fell asleep so I just parked for a bit.  We went in for Storytime and Max woke right up. We were able to enjoy story time with some of our good friends. Naturally though I ran late so I was late leaving..oops.

I’m so thankful that Bella’s teacher is understanding. I was the last one to get my baby, but it’s not always me.  Winking smile Bella was happy to see me and we quickly got in the car. That’s when things got a bit stressful. Bella didn’t’ want to do anything, she only wanted a snack, nothing was making her happy or was willing to compromise. Thankfully Josh has lunch ready when we got home. Max fell asleep again and this time we got him moved to his crib. he slept the whole time we were home.. which was about 40 mins.  Bella still was cranky after eating and just wanted to leave for daddy’s doctor’s appointment. I guess when it means snacks, crayons, paper, a big tv and a bunch of attention it’s ok to go to the doctor’s.

Once we finally got loaded up and to Josh’s appointment, we had to wait, but the kids were good. Josh went back for them to draw his blood and then we waited again. When the nurse came out with a copy of Josh’s blood results I knew it wasn’t good. He wasn’t able to get chemo so all that for nothing. Ugh. Bella was not happy about the change of things and let us know it. We did stop to get us all a snack and that seemed to really help. I think the girl just needs a lot of food or she gets cranky.

WE got home and Josh kept the kids while I ran to Fennimore to order Max’s first birthday cake.. it’s only 6 weeks away! I can’t wait to see his cake. We decided to do something a bit different  since his party wont’ be as large as Bella’s. Then I quickly stopped over by the grandparents to drop of their invite to Max’s party and some pictures.

Once I got home I decided I was going to go on a walk with the kids. I want to get more exercise in and they had been indoors way to much. So I kind of let Bella led the way. We went and visited the calves in the pull shed, then down around the pond. we went to find Josh before picking a different way to get back home. On our way we found a great bunch of leaves that made a nice small pile perfect for Bella and Max. Once Max had enough we started back home. Well Bella found “treasure maps” and told us which path to take next. I think it was yellow, then purple, then green, then the Rainbow path. She found the “x’ for the treasure but some pirates took it already. It was just so much fun.

I almost didn’t go on that walk today..and I almost picked a path that would have lead to grumbles, but instead I just went with the flow and had a great time. It’s the little moments that we will always remember . I did take pictures along the way, but of course those are only still shots.
