Running of the cows. Beginning of May we let the cows out on pasture for the first time since Mid October/November. They were excited even through there wasn’t much grass. 2014-05-06 004 (800x536)2014-05-06 008 (800x536)

May 30th: Last Day of School.

Today was the last day of school. It was hard to convince Bella of that after her graduation. I was probably more teary –eyed then she was, but she kept asking “is this my last day at St. Clement’s? Do we go to my new school next week?”  WE found the outfit she wore on the first day of school and got a picture on the step, only it was  a bit sunny and Bella was a bit tired.

First day and Last day. Kind of looks like she wore it the whole year. I know she grew but hard to tell on here since she wore different shorts underneath.

We got to school and I went in with her for a bit, we got to school a little late anyhow. She took along a little autograph graduation dog for friends and teachers to sign.  We got a picture of her with her teacher before I ended up chatting with teachers and Bella started school

I know during the day they had three recesses. They had left over cupcakes for snack, then had a popsicle for lunch and with the 2nd graders. They watched the movie Frozen with the 2nd graders and then did music with them too. Bella went with two of her friends, Kylie and Vivian, after snacktime to go the different classrooms to get the teachers to sign her puppy. They worked in her classroom to clean it up, including using shaving cream. she seemed to be doing ok until after school got out and she was goofing around with friends and got hit, it was barely a tap, but it was waterworks.  But we made it through. It’s sad to say goodbye but we hope to meet up with friends before we leave the area for good, and are making plans to come back. Smile

Kindergarten Class of 2014 Graduation

Yesterday my first baby girl graduated from kindergarten. This was a big deal. For us it kind of gives a bit closure for leaving St. Clement’s and moving to our new location. It also gave Josh the chance to see one of his kids graduate from the school he went to for 6 years and really wanted his kids to go too. I remember when we were talking about children, before we were married, and the only thing he wanted was his kids to go to St. Clement’s. Kind of bittersweet that Max isn’t able to attend, but at least is picture there and known there. Smile

The night started out with all the kids walking in

After they were all on stage  the kids had their first song “Time to Graduate”

Then Bella said the opening prayer. It got cut off, but want to record her saying it again just for memory

2014-05-29 038 (536x800)

Then Mr. Jensen spoke about the kindergarteners and the year they have had. Two of Bella’s classmates did a reading from Matthew about people bringing the little children to Jesus..After that it was one of the kids favorite songs “if I were a butterfly” They song this song for another concert

Next up the kids were given their diplomas . Bella later told me they weren’t real but it was ok because we would get the real ones later.2014-05-29 043 (800x536)

Mrs. Wodarz, her teacher talked for a bit and present a gift to the student teacher that the kids made. The kids the did one poem and one song

They also learned Head Shoulders knees and toes in French, thanks to Student Teacher Mr. Hulse

There was two closing prayers, including one that we all said along with the kids before they had their final songs

I missed one song before the kids came down from stage to sit with us parents to watch a slideshow of all the stuff they had done all school year. It was so cute to see, since we only really saw pictures here and there on newsletters. Bella enjoyed telling us about the pictures when they came on the screen.

After the slideshow, Mr Jensen called Bella up to receive a gift that her classmates made for her as a way for her to remember them. They made her a pillowcase with all their handprints on it. They also got her the  “oh the places you will go” book signed by them. Next they called us up to tell us they purchased a tree for us to plant at our new house. Irony is we were taking pictures next to the tree before the ceremony started. I’ll admit it, I cried. I love our school family and sadden to leave.  We then had cupcakes, my children ran wild, I talked to moms and caught up with people. It was just a great evening.  Thank you Mrs. Wodarz for all your hard work creating this! I know it’s a memory Bella will have forever.
